In order to make your Vehicle Safety Inspection experience as convenient as possible, we have provided you with the following information and tools. While the inspection checklist provided below does not guarantee that your vehicle will pass inspection, reading them carefully will prepare you for the inspection process and could increase your chances of passing your Vehicle Safety Inspection.
What to bring to your Texas Vehicle Safety Inspection. Proof of liability insurance:
For Trailers, show proof of insurance on the vehicle which is pulling the trailer.Payment: Pine Tree Inspection accepts cash only. Texas state law requires that payment is made whether your vehicle passes or fails, however the reinspection is done free of charge, if the repairs are done within 15 days. Remember, the first step for an out of state vehicle is the vehicle inspection. Note: There are four Auto Registration locations in Gregg County. Seek the one that is most convenient to you. Ask us for directions when you visit.
NOTICE: During the HOT summer months, PLEASE lower a window and help the Inspector in the 100 + Degree days.
What To Expect When We Inspect:
Your vehicle inspection couldn’t be more convenient. Here’s what to expect.
The state inspector will perform a brake test. All passengers will be asked to exit your car, truck, or van so that the test can be performed.Motorcycles are brake tested by the owner and observed by the inspector. Total vehicle inspection time is typically 9 minutes or less.
Common Reason for Inspection Failure:
Many inspection failures can be avoided. Please see the following list of items that typically cause a vehicle to fail when not in place or in the proper condition. Windshield Wipers, Brakes,Bulbs, including turn signals, stop lights, headlights,Parking brake and tires.
